Hey Everyone! This week’s Blog Post will focus on how to maintain creativity during this quarantine season we are all in right now. There is no doubt that the times we are living in are unprecedented. None of us have ever experienced anything like this before, so it’s important to stay connected to our friends, family members, colleagues, and most importantly, Ourselves. Staying creative during this time is not only recommended, but in my opinion, critical and necessary! It’s so easy to get distracted with what is going on in the world, so I created a quick list of ways you can maintain your creativity, or even take it up a notch. 

Improving Your Craft During Quarantine: 

If you are a music producer or engineer (or both), this is the time to increase your knowledge on the newest music equipment/gear, mixing & mastering, and sound design. You should also be creating/recording musical ideas (melodies, harmonies, vocals). Think about what inspires you, and then put that inspiration into Sound.  If you don’t have a vision board, create one. Knowing how far in music you want to go is imperative to getting there- so get busy! 

If you are an artist, you should be writing lyrics/rhymes at least every other day, or 3-4 times a week, at minimum. If you are feeling stuck or have writers block, a good way to combat that is by addressing your emotional needs. How are you feeling during this pandemic? This virus has effected people in many different ways… how has it affected you? Explore your feelings, and write them down. You can also cultivate song ideas by watching a movie or tv show, having conversations with people, and reading book titles & inspirational quotes. 

We are living in a time where we can really take our craft to the next level- and should! Please don’t waste this Opportunity To Create…. This is a time in history like no other, so let’s make it count by taking our abilities to the next level!
